Rebecca is a Textiles artist and designer. She chooses community and place as her biggest inspiration. This is because of its integral part in human living and with this, can provoke a reaction in people.
Rebecca particularly enjoys architecture that isn't always seen as aesthetically pleasing such as Brutalism and mid century community spaces.
Weaving fabric creates a set of rules in my practice to follow and keeps my ideas ingrained. I begin printing and drawing to gain inspiration and then move onto textile techniques. I strongly believe textiles and art can make a positive impact on people. That is why I keep a concept to all my works, to connect me back to my ideas and keep a sense of meaning to my work.
